Empowering Learning are currently working alongside a Greater Manchester based specialist provision for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges, who are looking for a full time Teacher to join their team. Providing high quality, bespoke education for pupils aged 8-16, the school takes pride in realising the potential of all it’s pupils and their ability to provide individualised curriculum solutions for young people, combined with an integrated therapeutic intervention approach.
The school specialises in ASD, Dyslexia and a range of SEMH requirements. The role is to work on a 2:1 basis with one young person who has become disengaged from education and requires support back into a classroom environment. This will be a long term role and you will be supported by a TA also. The young person has recently started back to school and would be initially for a period of one term, but for the right candidate this role could be extended to last the entire academic year.

The school itself provides a challenging but rewarding teaching experience, with a dedicated and established team to support you and your own development. The school is overseen by a strong and experienced Senior Leadership Team who put their students first. The Person You must have a strong knowledge of a variety of subjects as you will be teaching across the curriculum as well as having excellent relationship building techniques and be confident in managing and de-escalating behaviour.
You will be able to incorporate assessment for learning strategies into everyday practice as well as hold the ability to engage, enthuse and motivate students. You will have the ability to plan for a variety of needs and differentiate work as well as being able to work with other professionals within the boundaries of the classroom. You must have experience and training in behaviour management and de-escalation.
