Reed Education are supporting a school in the Cardiff area to find a long-term SEN supply teacher for the autumn term. Your School: Your school are a special school in the Cardiff area who support children with additional learning needs between the ages of 4 and 11. The children’s additional learning needs cover a wide range, including ASD, physical, medical, and profound learning difficulties, and speech, language, and communication difficulties. The school are renowned for giving excellent opportunities for learning and development and meeting the child’s individual needs.
They encompass the whole child – supporting them not just academically but also for their social, emotional, behavioural, medical, and moral needs. Your Role: You would be utilising your high-quality experience as a class teacher, preferably with experience working with children with additional learning needs and teaching the Early Years curriculum. You would be teaching a reception class of 9 pupils with a range of additional learning needs – you would also have 2 Teaching Assistants supporting you with the children and your lessons. You will need to be a qualified teacher with PGSE or QTS and it would be advantageous to have experience teaching an early year’s curriculum.
You will need to be compassionate and resilient and want to make a difference to every child’s learning and development.
