Reed Education Cardiff are a recruitment partner of a Secondary School based on the outskirts of Cardiff who are looking to add a Music Teacher to their existing staff structure.

This is a 12-month fixed term role to start January 2021 due to Maternity Leave. Due to department restructure there is potential to develop within the Senior Leadership Team. The role… You will teach Music upto Key Stage 4, with the prospect of developing your skills across Key Stage 5. The passion from the pupil’s means the uptake is fairly steady allowing you the opportunity to personalise learning with a manageable group of pupils who have the desire to enhance their understanding of music theory and practice.

You will motivate, engage and inspire the students through your own passion for music, creative teaching, presence and personality. The school is also well known for its wide range of extra-curricular musical activities for you to be a part of. The school… The school is a mixed 11 – 18 comprehensive school with over 1000 pupils on role. The school boasts excellent music facilities after its recent renovation, with composition and recording being at the cornerstone.

In their most recent inspection they were accredited with an Estyn rating of “Good”. Public transport links to and from the school are excellent. The school is located within a manageable driving distance from most South Wales locations. Onsite parking is available based on a first come first serve basis for those who wish to drive.

To be considered for the role, you will be/will have: A qualified teacher (QTS status); A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant or related subject discipline; Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences up to KS4 (KS5 desirable); Commitment to afterschool club and out-of-school hours learning provision; Effective class management with pupils at all levels; Tenacious attitude with a devotion to self-improvement.
