The Role: The role will consist of delivering the Welsh language to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learners Planning, preparing and delivering lessons Assessing and reporting on the behaviour of students Supporting the leadership team to implement the school’s development plan This is a full time post working Monday to Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm The School: The school is an English-Medium Secondary School located in an affluent outer suburb of Cardiff. The Schools’ most recent Estyn report lists the school as "Good". There are approximately 1400 pupil on roll including their Sixth Form. The pupils are passionate about learning and A* / A grades that are achieved are well above average for similar schools both locally and nationally.
Some of school alumnus include famous actors, sports personalities and writers. The Candidate: The right candidate for the role will ideally speak Welsh as a first language, or at least be a fluent Welsh speaker with a strong background of teaching the subject. You will also be hard working and diligent with a passion for the care & support your pupils receive. Requirements: A qualified teacher (QTS status) An honours degree or equivalent in Welsh Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for KS3 / KS4 A sincere desire to see all pupils improve and have clear strategies to ensure positive attainment Effective class management with pupils at all levels A valid enhanced DBS registered to the update service (Reed Education can assist you in obtaining this should you not have one) Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) The position comes with an immediate start (following successful registration, satisfactory references, interview and DBS check) and therefore will not be open for long, register your interest today if you wish to be put forward for this role.
